When the weather pushes triple digits, there is only one material I will wear: gauze. I love how it feels cool and breezy no matter how hot it gets. I don't care about new-fangled fibers or weaves; nothing compares with good, old-fashioned cotton gauze for summer. Maybe it's just me, but once you start mixing chains, criss-cross bodices, hi-low hems, shredded vinyl skirt, hard-core jewelry and old Hollywood hair the look becomes less about glamour and more about tacky. But not everyone agrees with my opinion about Christina Aguilera's black Versace gown she wore to last night's MTV awards. 
So here's my fashion theory as to why I start craving flashy shoes when the temperature starts rising: when it's too hot to wear big statement necklaces, it's only natural to move the bling to your feet.
